As in other countries when celebrating their independence days, on this day most shops and offices in Norway are closed. There are children's parade, marching bands, the longest in Oslo, the capital of Norway (one of the most expensive cities in the world) from Festningsplassen to in front of City Hall. Of course, traffic congestion occurs in the centre of most cities and towns in Norway. A historic day for the norway with the motto : Alt for Norge ("Everything for Norway").
